CASE STUDY

WALTANNA FARMS, STRATHKELLAR

Waltanna Farms’ 100% Australian grown flaxseed is sown, grown, cleaned, cold pressed, bottled or milled and packaged in Strathkellar just outside of Hamilton. The company takes its role as an innovator, grower and processor of health food products seriously, and has developed cold milled, cold pressed and rolled processes to retain the sought after health benefits of flaxseed.

“The research and development we have invested into producing a superior flaxseed product translates into a production process as simple, clean and as pure as our flaxseed products,” Director Mike Nagorcka explains.

“Our team of engineering production system experts have spent decades customising our processing plants to achieve the best possible flaxseed quality,” Mike explains.

The highly customised machinery and processing systems are top secret, and this advanced Intellectual Property is the reason why Waltanna Farms is leading the way as Australian flaxseed processors.

Mike Nagorcka says it makes sense to oversee the entire paddock-to-plate process given their intimate knowledge of the fragile structure of flaxseed. “After all the considered processing from sowing flax seed onwards, we are compelled to ensure each flaxseed product that leaves our farm gates is packaged to ensure maximum shelf life,” he says.
