Updated 26 March 2020.

Businesses in the Greater Hamilton region must include their employee wages in their 31 March BAS to be eligible for the $10k payment offered by the Federal Government.

An issue highlighted in visiting businesses this week is that the 31/3/20 Business Activity Statement is a critical date to obtain eligibility to the Boosting Cash Flow for Employers form of assistance announced by the Federal Government.

We therefore encourage businesses to contact their accountant to ensure they are eligible for the minimum $10,000 payment for the 31/3/20 financial quarter and another $10,000 in later quarters.

This advice comes as a timely update from Colin Thompson (B Com Acctg, Com Law), who is acting as a small business assistance and support officer for businesses in need on behalf of Southern Grampians Shire Council.

Colin has been assisting clients navigate their way through entitlements under the various stimulus packages announced by government, banks and the Australian Tax Office.
