Here in the Greater Hamilton region we have resilient businesses finding unique solutions to problems encountered under COVID 19 restrictions.

Since March 24, funerals in Australia have been limited to 10 guests, meaning that many of us wishing to pay our respects are unable to do so in person, and must find other solutions to “being there” when we can’t be there in person.

To enable would-be funeral guests to show their support for the grieving families during the ceremony itself, three businesses in Hamilton have collaborated on an innovative solution; ‘Hugs From Home Funeral Tributes.

Funeral Directors, F Greed & Sons will tastefully display a personalized photo card with your heartfelt message, created locally by Ivory Print, at a loved one’s funeral, alongside a single long-stemmed rose from The Regent Florist.

The Greed Family have been serving our community since 1861, through five generations of Funeral Directors. Louise from The Regent Florist has been providing fresh and silk flowers, plants and gifts to the Western District for over two decades, and Jan and the team from Ivory Print have been designing and printing from the family-owned print shop in Hamilton for over 15 years.

Together, these businesses are allowing those who are unable to attend a funeral to be there in spirit, and show their support in a collaborative, innovative and visual way.

This collaboration is already proving popular, with locals who have taken up the offer thankful for a tasteful solution that will be appreciated by those laying their love one to rest. This is also a great way for individuals to be able to support three local businesses in one online transaction during this pandemic.
